Lavender Hearts

These lavender hearts are made from a selection of vintage inspired pretty fabrics, each with a ribbon so you can hang them easily and finished with a vintage button.

They are filled with polyester toy filling and have a generous handful of lavender from my own garden.  A pretty stocking or hamper filler this Christmas.

Microscope Necklaces

These necklaces are made from 2 microscope slides (hence they are double sided) encased in a metal frame.

The 'Fresh as a daisy' necklace has 3 flowers stamped on the front, the darker pink flower is made from stamped organza as is the centre of the bottom flower. The flowers are outlined in fine glitter (for a little glamour) and then a suspension of mica powder and water is sprayed over to help blend the colours and add a very sheer golden glow. The rear of the necklace had glossed flower centres to add just a small amount of dimension.

'Time and Tide' is stamped on vintage book pages with a blue organza sea attached by sewing with goldwork embroidery thread.  The rear is stamped and a little fine glitter is added to the watch face edges.

'Time Flies' uses vintage book pages, stamped and coloured.  Some vintage lace is added and cogs from watches are hand filed to make them as thin as practicable to fit within the microscope slides.

Please contact me if you'd like to know where these are stocked.

Machine Embroidery over a photo

I love to spend time down in Budleigh Salterton in East Devon, there are some amazing walks following either the coast or the River Otter. On my last visit I was inspired to take another photo of the point where the river meets the sea, with the amazing tree skyline reflected in the incoming tide. I have taken this same photo many times over the year, but this time I had a plan!

I printed the photo out on specialist paper and transferred it to fabric. I then stitched with my sewing machine (leaving some areas of the photo untouched), over stitching with space dyed silks and yarns to add colour and depth

To create the feeling of the sun reflecting on the rippling water I stitched a few threads of angelina fibres to create a slight sparkle.

The picture itself is A4 in size.

These are the latest necklaces I have been making. Made from microscope slides with vintage text and embellishments embedded between the slides.

As you can see, they are double sided

The amount of detail you can include is amazing, its just that everything is in minature, so quite a detailed yet still quite dainty.

Welcome to my gallery

Welcome to my gallery.

Feel free to grab yourself a drink and settle down to browse through some of the new items I have made.

All the items are made in the West Country, many include reclaimed and vintage elements and all are made by myself.

I hope you like them and please leave comments should you wish

This is one of my coasters, I applied gesso to the base and stamped a background, distressing the edges and adding a touch of colour and subtle glitter. I added a vintage piece of script stamped with a bumble bee design, finishing off with 2 coats yacht varnish to ensure a strong protective coat.

A light pink tweed cushion cover with union jack in varying shades of pink, from country style fabrics with pretty english flowers design, gingham and a slightly sexy touch with a bit of blushing pink lace-perfect to adorn your favourite seat.
